When the Church Gathers for Corporate Worship
There is a unique beauty and benefit when God's people gather for corporate worship. Yet over time, it can be easy for church leaders to lose sight of the sacred purpose of the gathered church as the demands and mechanics of ministry begin to take over. We find ourseves simply trying to make it through another Sunday, rather than stewarding the profound gift God has given his people in gathering together.
The songs we sing, the prayers we pray, the embodied presence of one another, the preached Word, and the shared grace of the Lord's Supper are not incidental. They are central means by which God shapes, sustains, and shepherds his church.
At this network gathering, Matt Boswell will help us reflect on the purpose and practice of coprorate worship and how we lead these gatherings with theologcial clarity, pastoral wisdom, and joyful seriousness. We are grateful for the depth and experience Matt brings and trust this time will be a meaninful gift to our network.
